Data Integration
The issue which hinders most organizations’ ability to combat the problem is the unwieldy amount of healthcare cost
and utilization data. Typically, this data is stored in many disparate systems such as the organization’s IT
department, pharmacy benefit manager or third party administrator. Much of this information has been unavailable to
the organization’s decision makers which leads to an incomplete picture of where expenditures are going. This circumstance
makes it nearly impossible to confidently implement measures to lower cost or improve quality.

Data Analytics
Acquiring and integrating data is only the first step in using data to drive value. These activities must
be followed closely by careful analysis. Many of the indicators that point to the value derived from the health benefit are
common across most organizations. These indicators are routinely calculated and subsequently displayed in the Core Artemetrx
web application. Here, users can access multiple views of a wide range of indicators and the data from which they were
derived.
